Instructions for Use of the Carci Reagent® Test

How to perform the CarciReagent test – precise step-by-step instructions

The CarciReagent test kit is a layperson semi-quantitative urine test designed for the indicative detection of monohydroxyphenolic metabolites (tyrosine). The test is intended for single-use home testing.


✅ WHAT YOU WILL NEED

🔹 Included in the package:

  • 1× reagent ampoule (0.6 ml)
  • 1× protective plastic cap (for safe opening of the ampoule)
  • 1× dropper
  • 1× color scale for result comparison

🔹 Additionally prepare:

  • clean urine collection container (not included)

⚠️ IMPORTANT WARNINGS BEFORE TESTING

  • Perform the test immediately after opening the ampoule.
  • Do not drink, eat, or smoke while handling the reagent.
  • The contents of the ampoule are corrosive – handle with care.
  • It is recommended to perform the test using first morning urine (midstream).

🔬 STEP BY STEP: HOW TO PERFORM THE TEST

1️⃣ Collect urine

  • Use a clean container without soap or disinfectant residues.
  • Collect the midstream portion of first morning urine.

2️⃣ Prepare the ampoule

  • Place the protective plastic cap onto the tip of the ampoule.
  • Hold the ampoule firmly and carefully snap off the tip.
  • After opening, proceed immediately – do not wait!

3️⃣ Draw urine into the dropper

  • Use the supplied dropper to draw the urine sample.

4️⃣ Add urine to the ampoule

  • Carefully add approximately 3 ml of urine into the open ampoule (up to the marked line).
  • The urine will immediately mix with the reagent inside the ampoule.

5️⃣ Wait 3–5 minutes

  • Leave the ampoule standing on a flat surface.
  • Do not manipulate the ampoule during the reaction.
  • Do not exceed 10 minutes! After this time, the result may be distorted due to degradation of the mixture.

6️⃣ Evaluate the result

  • After 3–5 minutes, compare the color of the liquid (or any sediment) with the color scale included in the package.

🎨 RESULT INTERPRETATION

Result Value Meaning
1–3 0–250 mg/l NEGATIVE – normal tyrosine level
4–5 324–500 mg/l POSITIVE (mildly elevated) – medical consultation recommended
6–8 500–2000 mg/l POSITIVE (significantly elevated)medical examination required
9 Invalid test – contact the manufacturer

💡 Green or dark green coloration is also considered positive.
⚠️ Milky coloration may indicate an acute or chronic disease.


🧼 DISPOSAL OF THE USED AMPOULE

  • Dilute the contents of the ampoule with at least 2 liters of water and pour into the sewer.
  • Dispose of the glass ampoule and other test components in household waste.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water.

⚠️ ADDITIONAL WARNINGS

  • The result may be affected by diet and medication – avoid for 48 hours before testing (e.g. dairy products, chocolate, coffee, alcohol, fatty foods, fish, citrus fruits, etc.).
  • False results may also be caused by certain medications – see the package leaflet.
  • The test is intended for lay users aged 18+, for home use only.
